L3 Award in Education and Training – PTLLS, delivered by AET teachers and fully accredited by Qualsafe Awards, is the standard Initial Teacher Training course and the minimum needed to teach adults in the UK.

L3 Award in Education and Training – PTLLS For Employers
This course offers you the opportunity to up skill your training team with a qualification they will value and teaching and training skills that will make your training program more effective and enjoyable for the people who attend that training. There is also the possibility for you to get 80% of the cost of this training funded.
L3 Award in Education and Training – PTLLS For Individuals
Changing a career has become standard practice in recent years and the Award in Education and Training – PTLLS allows a career change into the education and training sector. You can teach in a college or gain employment as a trainer whereyou can pass on your skills to the next generation and in many cases, increase your salary as well.
Taking pride in expertly supporting you to learn by combining theory and practical throughout the course, there are no exams and you are assessed by submitting a portfolio where you complete a bank of questions and can, if you wish, add in evidence collected during the face to face elements in our training centre.
The objective of the L3 Award in Education and Training – PTLLS, is to benefit learners by helping them to attain the knowledge and skills required to prepare them for teaching.
Learners will be helped to build an understanding of the roles and responsibilities related to planning and delivering training sessions.
Also work will be done on how to assess learners and how to give them constructive and developmental feedback.
This qualification provides an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work now or in the further education and skills sector.
That does not just mean in a college. It could be in Further Education (FE) Colleges, Independent Training Providers, Community Groups or Local Authorities.
L3 Award in Education and Training – PTLLS Qualification Structure
This qualification contains 3 mandatory units with a total value of 12 credits.
Learners must complete all assessments in the units successfully to achieve the qualification.
The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 12 months. The actual period of the course will be agreed between the student and the provider on commencement of the course.
Each credit is equivalent to 10 hours learning time. Learning time consists of guided learning hours (GLH) and self-directed study.
GLH are a measure of the contact time a typical Learner will require in direct Trainer guidance to complete their programme of learning successfully, which for this qualification should be a minimum of 48 hours (excluding breaks).
This qual replaces the Level 3 and Level 4 Awards in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).
This qualification is only available at Level 3, however, learners can could progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF).
There is a minimum requirement for Learners to take part in microteaching. Microteaching is an activity where Learners prepare and deliver a short teaching and learning session to their peers and then evaluate their practice.
